le Papel is Britt’s paperie & press located in Los Angeles specializing in fine letterpress and silkscreen printmaking. We create limited edition prints with expert craft in the form of cards, correspondence, labels, posters, textiles, tickets, tags, invitations, artist books & more.

 

O R D E R I N G

le Papel works with clients both locally and faraway. Feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail for a consultation or if you wish to schedule an appointment.

Once your order is placed, a 50% deposit is required to begin work, with the balance due upon completion.

 

P R O C E S S

Design work begins & a B/W proof is prepared. Proofs are sent either by e-mail or post or you can come in to our shop to view it. We ask you to review the proof very carefully and then let us know if any changes or adjustments need to be made. If changes are required, we will make the change and send you a revised proof. Another round of proofs are created. Once the proof is approved, then production begins.

Usually within 2 to 6 weeks (depending on how busy we may be during the particular time of year), we will have received final approval on the proofs and will have obtained any materials needed to begin the job.

At this point, we’re ready to go, and will schedule the job to go on press.

We welcome (and even recommend) that you come in for a “press check,” if at all possible. At the press check, you will be present for the printing of your job, and will be able to make any last minute adjustments that you see fit. For instance, you may want the red to look a little richer.

 

P R I C I N G

Because each project is custom, there is no set catalogue of prices. Factors that affect cost are: complexity of design work, quantity, choice of paper, number of ink colors, and hand assembly.

Some guidelines are:

Business Cards (min qty. 250) starts at $400

Special occasion announcements & invitations start at $1,000

Simple thank you notecards (qty. 100) start at $625

Basic wedding invitation ensemble (qty. 100) starts at $1,600.

(This includes ceremony invite & envelope and reply set. )

Additional ink charge is app. $250

 

Estimates are provided upon request. A 50% deposit is required to begin work, with the balance due upon completion.

Turnaround is 2 to 6 weeks and depends upon the complexity of designwork. Rush orders are accepted (schedule permitting) for an additional charge.
